Privacy policy
This policy describes what Behindthewager currently collects and why. It covers this website only.
What we collect today
- Theme preference. If you switch between light and dark mode, that choice is stored in your browser's local storage so we can remember it on your next visit. It never leaves your device and we cannot see it.
- Basic interaction events. A small number of specific actions — clicking through to an operator, clicking a review link, clicking our internal homepage feature, or clicking our publisher trust link — are recorded as generic events (which action, on which page) so we can understand which content is useful. As shipped, these events are not sent to any third-party analytics vendor. If that changes in future, this policy will be updated before the change goes live.
- Standard web server logs. Our hosting provider may keep short-term technical logs (such as IP address and requested page) for security and operational purposes, as is standard for any website.
What we don't do
We do not require an account to read this site. We do not run a contact form, comment system or newsletter sign-up yet, so we do not collect your name, email address or any other personal details through this site at this time.
Cookies
This site does not set tracking cookies. The only client-side storage used is browser local storage for your theme preference, described above.
Your rights
If in future we do collect personal data (for example, through a contact form), you will have the rights available to you under UK data protection law, including the right to access, correct or delete your data. Details will be added here before any such feature launches.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page if what we collect changes — for example, if we introduce a contact form, a third-party analytics tool, or an affiliate tracking system. Significant changes will also be reflected in our Affiliate Disclosure where relevant.
